RARE is a novel resource management system that will supervise
execution of user process requests.
It comprises a set of functions
and applications that have been optimized for high performance. A novel
feature
of the RARE system is that data is sent to the resource from a remote site, processed on hardware
that has been optimized to perform a
particular task more than 10 times faster than a typical high
performance
computer, and results are transmitted back to the user via the Internet.
