I am a graduate student pursuing a
Masters Degree in Computer Science in the Systems And Computer Science
Department in the School
of Engineering at Howard University. I
graduated in December 1994 with a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering
from Howard University, Washington D.C. I will be graduating in
May 1997. My main interest is Software Development. During my
academic career at Howard, I have invested a great deal of time
and effort in learning an number of programming languages like C and
C++, and a score of programming application such as Motif and OpenGL in order
to develop my programming skills. I do a variety of things such
as Database Application Development, but my main interest is
Interactive Computer Graphics. I have a very strong affection for
Interactive Computer Graphics; therefore, I spend a great deal of
hours learning anything that relates to that area. This semester,
I am working on a distant learning project called Multimedia Online (MO).
During my first year in the graduate
program, I performed research in the area of Software Reliability
and Software Reliability Growth Models. This research is
supported through the HUFASTProgram
at Howard which is a joint venture between Howard University and the
United States Air Force. As part of my research, I designed
and implement an Exploratory Data Analysis Toolkit called E.D.A.T. This
tool was written in Boland C++ version 4.5. The aim of the tool
was to aid in obtaining a better fit for Software Reliability Growth
Models so that these models can make better reliability predictions. This
tool generates raw data, charts, and graphs. Data used in the
tool consisted of interfailure times of software which was received
from a few companies. Currently, I am working with
Artificial Neural Networks. I am trying to use these models to
get a better fit for the Software Reliability Growth Models. Since
Neural Networks are adaptive, they are better candidates for generating
fits for the Reliability Growth Models. My mentors and
supervisors are Dr. Ronald
Leach and Dr. Peter
Keiller from the Systems and Computer Science Department (SCS).
In the near future, I would like
to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science and specialized in Interactive
Computer Graphics. But in the mean time I would like to get some
hands-on experience in that area. I would also like to start a
company one day. This has always been my dreams, and therefore I
hope that I will be able to fulfill that dream one day.
