Majors Achievements
Twenty-three years experience in the computer industry in the following positions:
Systems Analyst / Applications Programmer with focus on Capacity Planning,
Performance modeling, and Software Development methodologies.
Quality Research Analyst concentrating on predicting the quality of software products
using software reliability growth models and software metrics analysis techniques.
Professor/Consultant to three major universities in the Washington D.C. area, teaching
courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in Software Engineering and
developing and implementing outreach programs within the local community.
Conducted Capacity Planning and Performance studies as the lead analyst in a CICS,
IMS, and DB2 environment. Programmed in CSP, COBOL, FORTRAN, PL/1,
PASCAL, and C languages. Consulted in application development tools, techniques and
methodologies concentrating in Cost estimation, Software testing, Maintenance modeling,
CASE technology and Object-Oriented analysis.
Education Experience (1974-Present)
School of Engineering, Department of Systems and Computer Science, Howard
University, Washington, DC. Visiting Professor 1982-1983; Assistant Professor (Part
time), 1974-1992; Assistant Professor, 1994-Present.
School of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science, George Washington University, Washington, DC. Visiting Professor
1990-92; Assistant Professor (Part time), 1992-Present.
School of Business, University of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC. Assistant
Professor (Part time), 1977-1979.
Consulted with clients in the selection and implementation of application development
strategies including, application development process and methodology, Computer Aided
Software Engineering (CASE) tools, software testing methodologies, and project
management tools. (1993-1994)
Technical lead in the justification and roll out of the SOFTWARE RELIABILITY
ENGINEERING methodology. Tasks included selection of software reliability modeling
tools, methods for model comparisons, procedures for collection of failure data, selection
of software metrics and data analysis with emphasis placed on improving productivity,
zero defects, and shortening the testing cycle (when to stop testing). Development of
statistical analysis tools. (1992-1993)
Led technical team in developing simulation and analytical models to predict and
evaluate the performance of systems in MVS and VM environments. Provided
recommendations to resolve Performance and Capacity issues and to establish optimum
resource utilization. Evaluated performance impact assessment analysis of software,
hardware and workload changes. Justified and implemented the use of BEST/1,
ANCICS, RESQ and SNAPSHOT modeling tools to ensure accurate measurement and
predictions. (1983 - 1992)
Developed programs/applications in CSP and COBOL both for batch and on-line systems
for the SCORE billing project. Used Assembler language in the development project for
the JES2/NJE and JES3 sub-systems. Coded statistical analysis application in C and
PASCAL on the OS/2 2.0 environment for the Software Reliability Engineering (SRE)
project. Used PL/1 and FORTRAN languages in the development of Software Reliability
models and GPSS in the development of simulation queuing network models. (1974-
1993)
CONSULTANT (1993-Present)
School of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science, George Washington University, Washington, DC. Consultant
(Minority Women in Science Project) 1993-Present.
School of Education, George Washington University, Washington, DC. Consultant (D.C.
Spirit Project) 1994-Present.
