Greg's Thursday Low Down at the Holiday Inn
The 9am sun was mild on the beach, but it was definitely getting hotter. Sinbad was on the shore doing a quick promo for his HBO special, surrounded by the hot sand, light blue-green waves, and an assortment of women in the ocean waving for him to come in.
Sinbad was truly warm as he laughed with many of the friendly, ordinary guests and travellers,
and grinned his childlike and mischievous grin at the camera.
And after all was done, Sinbad jumped in the water and had a good time before speeding off around
the island in a white speed boat. 
And then the music began. Margaritas and party goers flowed in. The music was loud. Some of the crowd did the electric slide in the cool ocean water. I stood about ankle deep in the water and a pretty, brown- skinned woman in her thirties smiled at me and said, "You gotta go away, you have too many clothes on!" I looked at myself, looked at her, and then looked all around. Even though I had on a t-shirt, a pair of shorts and sandals -- she was right. Near the bar, NBA star Dominque Wilkins stood around, talking to a lady friend. He and Derrick Coleman,and some of their other friends all came down to hang out and relax.
The part that made everyone happy was that some of the
beach partiers had just arrived.
This was only the
beginning...
