He's known as the "Fly Jock" and the "Hardest Working Man in Radio." Now Tom Joyner is taking over WHUR's airwaves each weekday morning from 6-10a.m.
Joyner, a four-time Billboard magazine award winner, began his radio career immediately after he graduated from college. He had just received his bachelor's degree in sociology from Tuskegee Institute, when a friend offered him a news broadcasting job at Montgomery, Alabama's WRMA-AM.

Joyner made headlines in the mid-1980's when he accepted the simultaneous positions of morning drive personality at KKDA-FM in Dallas, and the afternoon drive talent at WGCI-FM in Chicago. His daily round-trip commute between the two cities garnered him national publicity, high ratings, and millions of Frequent Flyer miles!
