D.C. police are disputing a newspaper report
that there is a high turnover rate in Mayor
Marion Barry's private security detail.
The Washington Times reported today
that only one of the 17 officers assigned to
detail in January 1995 remains. D.C.
police issued a statement this afternoon
saying more than 50 percent of the original
officers remain on detail. The security
detail protects the Mayor, his wife, and his
son.
