Goodbye

He leaves.
Exit amber glow
Footsteps crackling in the autumn wind
I will go where he goes
My hopes' tide rises
Then falls weak again
Lapping up the taste of sand
Bitter grit its silt layers my throat
Tounge is dry - too dry to cry
I'd cry oceans to see him again
So I'm swimming throught the fear
Frigid water slips through my thin skin
He is walking on the water
Travelling miles with a single step
I'm just splashing paddling forward
Floating backwards - into nowhere
With the tides rise - he moves onward
I move shoreward, sinking in the mud
Change is coming
He is leaving
Turning yellow, orange and falling down
Where he rested, dead tree bark sees
underneath it
What I'm blind to
Green sprout blossoms - needing sunshine
needing time to breakthrough in the spring
bringing life and breath and water
bringing change and sweet stability
He is leaving
I am coming
I am coming
I am coming.
