Due Date:

Subject:
Probabilities

Given five dice, and allowing only ONE roll per dice, find the probability of:

* Rolling three of a kind of one number (but not more than three, and not a full house). The set of possibilities is {x, x, x, y, z | x ( y ( z}.
* Rolling four of a kind of one number (but not more than four, i.e. not a Yahtzee(r)). The set of possibilities is {x, x, x, x, y | x ( y}.
* Rolling a full house. A full house is when there are three dice with one number and the other two dice another number. ). Thus, the set of possibilities is {x, x, x, y, y | x ( y}.
* Rolling a small straight (but not a large straight). The set of possibilities is {w, x, y, z, q | z = y+1 = x+2 = w+3, and q ( w-1 and q ( z+1}.
* Rolling a large straight. The set of possibilities is {v, w, x, y, z | z = y+1 = x+2 = w+3 = v+4}.
* Rolling a Yahtzee(r). The set of possibilities is {x, x, x, x, x}.

This homework must be neatly written and on time or it will not be accepted. Your name must be in the upper right corner with the date and course name and number. It must be stapled in the upper left corner (if there is more than one page).
