Scholarships and Financial Aid

The University provides full tuition scholarships for some students who maintain a required grade point average. Funds for the different types of aid are provided through a variety of University, private, and federally supported sources. Aid available includes scholarships, loans, grants, and part-time employment. Students may apply for one or more types of assistance, including federal and nonfederal aid, depending on assistance, including federal and nonfederal aid depending on program requirements and eligibility criteria. To apply for financial aid, the PROFILE form must be completed and forwarded to the College Scolarship Service at the address indicated on the form. Students should indicate Howard University (code number 5297) as the school to receive their financial aid data. Applications for financial aid are not considered until the student is officially admitted; therefore, it is important that admissions requirements be satisfied early. Financial aid applications must be received by February 1.

A good online source of financial aid is Finaid. Students should also check the list on Fellowship and scholarship resources and Excite's financial aid site.
