Fun With K Maps 1.02
Implementation by P. Berman and J. Beal
of a project suggested by C. Gloster.
North Carolina State University, 1999.
The game: Choose a problem size (3, 4 or 5 variables).
Then use the Literal buttons
(A, !A, B, !B, and so on) to create Product blocks
on the grid. The ! means ``not.''
If a Product block covers only 1s and Xs on the grid,
then you can click ``accept,'' and the Product
will be added to the Expression list.
You may then start building a new Product.
The goal is to build an Expression
that covers all of the 1s on the grid using
as few Products as possible.
As you build your Expression,
you may remove a previously-accepted
Product by selecting it in the list
and clicking "Remove." When your Expression
is complete, click on "Done;" the system will then
either compliment you on your work or
show you an Expression that uses fewer Products.
You can restart the game at any time by
clicking on one of the yellow "New K Map" buttons.
See README text file for
what this is all about. (Note: Parts of
the description of
this applet in the README file are out-of-date.)
