EGPP 101 Major Design Project

Design and Build

Major Design Project Detailed Description

A detailed description of each of the requirements for the Major Design and Build Project is given Each student team must:

  • Design and build their project.
  • Purchase parts to build their project.

Each student team will be reimbursed for items purchased for the project up to a maximum of $50 per team. Students must present receipts to get reimbursed, so please SAVE ALL RECEIPTS! Again, no student team will receive more than $50 total for parts ($50 limit). In fact, cost is a part of the grading criteria, so projects with large costs will receive lower grades. The major design project is 40% of each students grade in EGPP101, so please be very serious about getting the parts ordered quickly and the final project working.

The major deliverables for the project are:

I. Preliminary Presentation (11/12)

In each satellite class, a draft of the final presentation must be turned in and reviewed by the faculty member/teaching assistant. Faculty members/teaching assistants will provide feedback to each student team on how to improve the final presentation document. This presentation should include as many of the items required for the final presentation as possible. (See final presentation description shown below.)

Grading: PASS/FAIL (5%)

II. Preliminary Report (11/19)

Faculty members/teaching assistants will provide feedback to each student team on how to improve the final document. This report should include as many of the items required for the final report as possible. (See IV. Final Report description shown below.)

Please note: Student teams cannot receive reimbursement for parts until this report has been received!
