Clay
Gloster, Jr. is currently a member of the highly esteemed
faculty in the department of Electrical & Computer Engineering
at Howard University. Among his accomplishments while
serving the Howard University community is the establishment of
the undergraduate program leading to the B.S. degree in Computer
Engineering. He served as a leading advocate for its creation.
In May 2007 Howard University bestowed its first degrees to
graduates of this program.
He served on the faculty at NC State University for more than 7
years where he was involved in research in High Performance
Digital Signal Processing. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees
in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and
Technical State University and the Ph.D. degree in Computer
Engineering from North Carolina State University. He also has
been employed with IBM, the Department of Defense, and the
Microelectronics Center of North Carolina. He spent
several summers working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and
the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
