Understanding The STDs Health Problem
STDs stand for sexually transmitted illness. As the name implies this is a form of infection that spreads from one person to another during sexual intercourse. There are many causes that may lead to this condition, however, the common reasons are the transfer of different types of infections such a bacteria, parasites and viruses. Medically more than 20 STDs are documented and the most common occurrences are of Chlamydia and Genital herpes. The other types of STD include HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Genital Warts, Human Papillomavirus, and Herpes.
There are certain symptoms and signs of this disease. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you can either do an easy STD test at home using the STD testing home kits, or you can go to the nearest clinic and ask for the checkup. The symptoms are the discharge of fluid from the vagina, itching on private parts, blisters on or near the genital area, a sensation of burning during urination, and frequent pain during intercourse.
STD is a serious condition and if you feel you have this disease do not shy from being tested for it at a clinic or do it yourself. Not only STD is dangerous for your well being but you are likely to send the disease to your partner during intercourse and this disease can spread from one person to another. The common form of STD like gonorrhea may lead to infertility, whereas serious forms of STDs like HIV and syphilis are dangerous and can even lead to the death of a person if it is not timely treated.
Some people have a misconception that STD will go by itself. This is far from the truth as no form of STD be it a minor condition or a serious illness will go by itself and you need to seek immediate medical attention. If you shy away from treatment this condition can kill a person. If you start with a treatment plan most of the common form of STD is treatable, where you need to go through more complicated treatment procedures for the serious cases of STD.
There is no guessing whether a person is suffering from STD. In common cases, even people who get STDs are often unaware of the diseases. If you’ve had sex with different partners there is a probability you may get this disease however if you practice safe sex it is highly likely you will not get this disease. However, if you or your partner are not sure or are confused it is better to take the support of medical specialist and reach to the health facilities to get a complete checkup for the condition.
